The Heroes

Metzler has a strong heritage, made by many important goals in terms of technology, patents and race results. Made by people.
80 years ago a man was living his passion and riding his bike like no other.
80 years ago that man has raced and won with Metzeler the legendary "Targa Florio".
It was 1928, the 29th of April, and that man is still considered a legend, a myth, a hero.

Ernst Jacob Henne has been one of the heroes who contributed to the success of Metzeler, and it is time now for Metzeler to celebrate him realizing one of the most ever challenging tributes to one of the most ever victorious riders.

Metzeler heritage is the fundament of its present leadership and the best way to represent this kind of glorious path made trough the decades is to re-live the story in a modern key. First chapter of Metzeler's Heroes celebration is dedicated to Ernst Henne and nowadays "modern heroes" can show the evolution of the bikes and most of all the evolution of Metzeler product range testing in a single and full day the whole different beings a biker has and the different solutions Metzeler and the bike manufacturers can offer. Ernst Henne was a BMW rider thus Metzeler is celebrating also the German bike manufacturer, which has always been close to.
The modern hero can count on an impressive development made by Metzeler engineers and can have at his disposal the perfect tyre for each ground, the perfect tyre for each bike, the perfect tyre for each way he wants to live his bike and his passion. Every time he rides he chooses his style, he changes his needs and his expectations change too. The modern hero loves the challenge and has no fear to face the difficulties but wants and deserves the best tools to overtake the obstacles and fully enjoy the passion he is driven by.

Henne and Metzeler can share not only the victory at Targa Florio but 12 world records. 20 years later in order to celebrate this kind of milestone of motorcycle racing Metzeler has organized a tour that will move from Targa Florio (with Sportec M3 tyres) to the highway to Siracusa (Roadtec Z6 Interact™) for doing a few laps on the racetrack (Racetec K3) before climbing the Mt. Etna Volcano (Tourance EXP) and braving the weather of the aspex of the mountain (Feelfree Wintec) before diving into the off-road (Six Days Extreme) and returning to Palermo touring on the highway (ME 880 Marathon).

More than 600 km (400 miles) to ride in all the different conditions for an ultimate journey, starting from the past, riding to the future.
